Casa Fuerte de la Vega de Arias or Casa del Cid, Tierzo

This is a remarkable 13th-century construction which was used as a fortified house. As a matter of fact, it is surrounded by tall walls.  It has a rectangular base and a parade ground. Access is through a pointed arch and it has a stone coat of arms. Several modifications have been performed over the centuries. Even if there is potential danger that some parts of the façade fall, it is in good condition.

A legend about El Cid describes how Rodrigo spent the night at this castle during exile.

Visits: Private property. The building can be seen from the exterior.
