The watchtower of Vadorrey
Carretera entre Morales y Aguilera. Morales

According to El Cantar, the daughters of El Cid were stripped naked and beaten with straps by their husbands at the oak forest of Corpes, after which the king agreed to allow them to travel to Valencia, escorted by Álvar Fáñez and 200 other men. On their way to Valencia, they crossed the river Duero in a place called Vadorrey. At this point there was a Muslim watchtower, called the castle of Vadorrey, now in ruins. Vadorrey, which is now an abandoned town in the area close to Morales, is situated in close proximity to the watchtower.
